Mediation, adjudication and arbitration are the best known forms of ADR. - Med-arb. As the name suggests, this is a mixture of mediation and arbitration/adjudication. If the mediation fails, the parties can agree that the mediator will adjudicate the dispute. |

- Executive Tribunal. A senior executive from each party is appointed to sit with a mediator to try to reach agreement.
- Dispute Resolution Board. In large projects, particularly overseas, a tribunal is set up at the outset to meet and, if necessary, to resolve disputes.
